Application
When evaluating an idea, ask: is the underlying problem CPU-shaped or GPU-shaped? Most consumer software is still CPU-shaped (sequential UI logic, traditional business workflows). The interesting frontier is GPU-shaped — anything involving learning, simulation, generation, large-scale matrix operations. Teams that don't understand which side of that line their work is on are usually the ones who haven't thought carefully about what they're building.
Limits
This lens underweights products whose value is genuinely sequential (most consumer SaaS), whose advantage is design taste rather than computational capability, or whose innovation is in distribution/business model rather than infrastructure. Read founder formation. Has this person actually had a thing not work? Have they fired someone they liked, missed payroll, been publicly wrong? Limits
